Planning our next trip

Updated: Apr 19

We are in the midst of organizing our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World in September 2025. We will be introducing our friend to Disney World for the first time, which will be wonderful to experience from their fresh perspective.

When organizing a trip, we prefer to set up a Trello list to cover all the various components. Listed below are the different aspects of planning.

  1. Passports and ESTA - this seems like an obvious one but we need to make sure our passports are valid and we have current ESTA for the United States. Note - if you are rejected for an ESTA you will have to apply for a Visa.

  2. Pre-Travel Hotel - we like to stay at a Hotel the night before the flight. This allows us to have a more relaxed start to our vacation.

  3. Airport Parking - we always drive to the airport as it is cheaper than getting the train. We try to always do meet and greet parking so we don't have to deal with shuttles to and from the airport.

  4. Flight - this is again an obvious thing, we try and find the best deals and don't go with a specific airline every time.

  5. Transfers - we have never driven in Florida when going to Disney, this is person preference for us. If we were staying offsite it would make sense for us to hire a car. Generally we book our transfers trough Mears Connect.

  6. Resort - as we are DVC members we generally stay at deluxe Disney resorts. We are trying to slowly get around them all but can be difficult as booking a resort which is not your 'home' resort can only be done 7 months in advance.

  7. Park Tickets - as we spend most of our time in Disney we always got for the 14 day ticket which also comes with the photo pass. Where we get this from depends on the costs. Often we find that Attraction Tickets comes up margianlly cheaper then direct. Though this year we have seen that direct is cheaper.
